Color matching a snow guard system and a standing seam roof panel has never been so easy and cost effective. The S-5! ColorGard systems color matches structural and architectural standing seam roofs, and is guaranteed to last the life of the metal roof material.
How is this possible? The ColorGard IS the roof material! The same high quality prefinished material used for the roof is simply inserted into the front of the ColorGard bar for a perfect match. By utilizing a color strip with Kynar 500® or Hylar 5000® will keep it color matched for 20 years. The color strip is the roof material sheared to 2” x 96" long with a material thickness up to .050".
ColorGard is furnished in 8’ (nominal) lengths, with pre-punched holes 4" on center for attachment to one of the S-5! clamps or brackets. When working with R-panel applications the VersaBrackets can be used. A splice piece is also furnished to facilitate end-to-end joining of adjacent sections while providing for linear expansion/contraction of the finished assembly. ColorGard mounts to the S-5! clamps with the stainless steel bolt provided. The S-5-U clamp attaches to the standing seam of the panel by tightening the stainless set screws with an allen wrench attachment to any commercial screw gun. The special stainless steel, round nosed screw developed by the makers of S-5! will slightly dimple, but not cut or pierce the panel seam material. For maximum holding strength, set screws should be tightened and sequentially retightened as the seam material compresses.
Clean lines, cylindrical shapes, and a high-tech appearance make SnoRail and SnoFence the favorite choice of architects and roof designers. These systems have a sleek, unobtrusive look on mill finished panels such as unpainted Galvalume, stainless steel and titanium zinc. The soft gray appearance is also complementary to pre-painted steel and aluminum panels.
Both systems are available in aluminum, stainless steel and brass (for copper roofing). Both systems use the same attachment method as ColorGard to a standing seam roof. The S-5-A clamp should be spaced a maximum of 24" on center (it may also be placed closer in severe situations). The SnoRod inserted through the S-5-A clamps will be positioned just above the panel seams. SnoPosts are used to create a second row of SnoRods, creating the SnoFence system.
